Initially premiered at the unforgettable 2024 edition of Ultra Miami, Gravity by Martin Garrix, Sem Vox & Jaimes marks yet another addition to the brilliant progressive house catalog of Martin Garrix.
The festival progressive house sound has been enjoying one of its best years in 2024. Artists such as Third Party, Alesso & David Guetta, and Matisse & Sadko have delivered noteworthy contributions to a sound that so many people cherish. However, the success of the genre in 2024 wouldn’t have been as big if Martin Garrix hadn’t left his own mark. With fan-favorite tracks such as Carry You, Empty, and Wherever You Are, Garrix has further solidified his status as a true production and songwriting maestro. His latest collaboration with long-time friends Sem Vox & Jaimes is a testament to that.
Gravity, which premiered at this year’s Ultra Miami, contains everything you can find in a Martin Garrix track. Uplifting vocals, brilliant chord progression, and a lovely melody, every bit is present. Jaimes stole the show with his powerful voice, singing about a constant struggle with pressure and mental health. Sem Vox is also no stranger to working on emotional and powerful music, as portrayed by his collaboration with Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman and his numerous anthems for Don’t Let Daddy Know. There were growing fears among the fans that the collaboration might not see the light of the day. That was due to Martin Garrix not selecting Gravity to be a part of his set tracklists on numerous occasions. Luckily, all concerns have now been put to bed.
The past couple of weeks have been some of the busiest for Martin Garrix. First of all, Gravity is his 3rd release in as many weeks after releasing Empire with NUZB under his GRX alias and The Game under his YTRAM alias together with LADANZA. Last night, his record label STMPD RCRDS had a label night at AFAS Live in Amsterdam where Martin himself brought out Sem Vox & Jaimes to perform Gravity live. And tomorrow, he will play an hour-and-a-half set on AMF.
Gravity is now live on every major streaming platform and you can listen to it down below as always.
