Empire of the Sun have released ‘Alive (Reimagined)’

, a new remix EP that reworks their 2013 anthem ‘Alive’ through five dancefloor-focused interpretations. Moreover, the project brings together a heavyweight list of collaborators, each delivering a distinct angle while keeping the track’s melodic identity intact.

 

The EP spans multiple corners of electronic music, starting with DJ HEARTSTRING, who inject the record with a more emotive trance-leaning lift, before Alok pushes things into darker, more driving territory. Additionally, acclaimed producer SG Lewis delivers a late-night club-ready version built around crisp percussion and hypnotic synth movement, leaning into the kind of tension that hits hardest in the early hours.

Rounding out the tracklist, the release also includes previously shared remixes from Zedd and David Guetta, both putting their signature touch on the record without losing the core hook that made it a global favourite. As a result, ‘Alive (Reimagined)’ plays like a full-spectrum update of a modern classic rather than a simple nostalgia package.

Originally released as the lead single from Empire of the Sun’s second album ‘Ice on the Dune’, ‘Alive’ became a defining moment for the duo’s evolution after ‘Walking On A Dream’. The track achieved major chart success, earned multi-platinum recognition in Australia, and later landed on global sync moments, including its inclusion in FIFA 14. Furthermore, the song has now passed 700 million global streams, proving its staying power more than a decade later.

With ‘Alive (Reimagined)’ out now via Universal Music Australia and Capitol Records, Empire of the Sun have given one of their biggest records a fresh club-ready life for 2026.
