Armin van Buuren and Pete Tong have joined forces with UK vocalist Poppy Baskcomb to deliver a huge new take on the Fragma classic, out now via Armada Music.
Reworking Toca’s Miracle is always a tightrope walk — too much change and you lose the emotional attachment fans built over decades; too little and the whole thing feels lazy. But the trio pull off a genuine sweet spot here. Pete Tong brings the sophistication of his Ibiza Classics project — that unmistakable, orchestral, sun-drenched grandeur running under the groove — while Armin drives everything forward with his trademark euphoric trance energy.
The tension builds with precision toward the primary breakdown, sweeping filters and punchy snare rolls pushing the adrenaline up, before the climax lands as pure festival euphoria. It’s the kind of arrangement designed equally for massive open-air mainstages and dark club rooms — and importantly, one that avoids the cheap festival-rework shortcuts a lot of modern reimaginings fall into.
Poppy Baskcomb is arguably the star of the record. Rather than a karaoke impression of the original topline, she takes the iconic hook and gives it fresh grit and emotion, gliding over lush pads and driving basslines. Every high note lands with effortless power — a genuinely breathtaking vocal performance that elevates the whole production.
The collab arrives amidst a huge run for Armin, following his recent vinyl-only UNVRS Ibiza set and the new A State Of Trance 25 Years silver vinyl. Expect the Toca’s Miracle reimagining to dominate DJ sets across the season.
